A Twisted Tale
Earlier this year, I was invited to participate in a theatrical performance piece, The Tin Can Cabaret, put on by my teacher & friend Rain Anya and her partner Sara “Bebe” Holmes. For the shows opening act, we created a mischievous aerial playground of vagabonds, fairies & thieves under the spell of a pair of clowning puppeteers. The show was a spectacular success, selling out to a packed house at the Kinetic Arts Center in Oakland.
Shootin At 700
…nanometers that is.
Last week I did some modeling and assisted in a photo shoot for my friend Audrey Penven. My friend Ian got the idea at a recent party, to grab my IR camera and shoot pictures of people in front of Microsofts new Kinect video game controller.
The Knuckle-Boom Circus
Take a look at this truck. Not much to look at is it? It has a 10′ flat bed, a compressor that runs off the main engine, and a compact crane called a knuckle boom that folds up behind the cab. “What’s it good for?” you ask.
The Greatest Clamp In The World
I picked up this little rig from JCX Expendables today, seen here attached to our office table and a Canon S90. The clamp and ballhead where both about 55$, a little spendy, but completely worth it. It mounts to handlebars, hand rails, the edge of desks, skateboards, kitchen faucets, doors, whatever.
Stretch Out And Wait
Last night I sat down and finished a pattern I’ve been working on for a while. This is my aerial practice shirt. It keeps my arms, shoulders, and neck from getting rope burn when I’m practicing in class. It’s based on a surfing rash guard, with longer sleeves and a lower waist.
