A continuing series of paintings depicting skulls through the use of iridescent acrylics.

I started this project as an exploration in using mixed mode illumination rules. While value of the colors chosen depicts translucency, light and shadow, the use of iridescent paints creates a rapidly changing hue and reflection model as the viewing angle and lighting conditions change.
